The goals of the Washtenaw Reading Council are to support the goals of the Michigan Reading Association and the International Reading Association by:

• Providing access to professional development for educators, future educators and parents, including best practices and new research information.
  
  
• Increasing communication between educators, future educators and parents by motivating and encouraging the development of learning communities.
  
  
• Engaging students, parents and businesses in activities that promote and develop literacy.
  

The Washtenaw Reading Council is calling upon local businesses to aid in the promotion of a project: to provide a 100-book library to as many families as possible across our communities-Washtenaw, Wayne and Monroe Counties. Click Here for details.
